This will my my first show that is solely focused on beads. If it goes well I plan to participate in The Innovative Bead Expo a few times a year.

* Large hole beads fit popular trademark bracelets, like Pandora, Troll, Chamelia and many others. These new wave charm bracelet beads are often referred to as European style.

The beads are not limited to wearing on a trademark bracelet or necklace, you can fit them on any cord or chain as long as the diameter is no larger than 4.5mm. They are also useful for beading projects that require a large hole. Be creative!

Quite possibly the best batch of cupcakes I have made to date! Remember a few months ago? I was rambling about how I can’t stay focused on one subject for long. Well I nailed it. Cupcakes have overtaken me. Periwinkle Sprinkle Cupcake is the mother of what’s to come. When I made ten in a row, loving each one as much as the next, I was ecstatic. I’m usually my worst critic, how could one help it after working in quality control for fine jewelry manufactures, Richards and West. Normally I’ll approve one bead out of a dozen, labeling the rest misfits. Now that I have found my calling, I’ve been working avidly on cupcakes in this style. Many more to come, so stick around if you have a sweet tooth for this kind of bead.

I can’t tell you how long it’s been since I have been this excited to document my beads. Pulling them from the kiln when they are done annealing has been like Christmas morning every time.

Wildflower Polkadot Mix – Practice, Practice, Practice.

Laura Sparling is a lampworker whom I have immense bead envy for, she makes beads of this style often. I follow her blog closely, always gawking over her precise line work and fine dot placement. After viewing her work last week, I became compelled to practice some dot discipline of my own. Rather than striving for a strict and tight pattern, I chose to work under less stressful circumstances, using a loose and random size pattern. Practice makes perfect is what they say.

As I was making these beads, they reminded me of small wild flowers, hence the title. Torching up polkadot beads has surprisingly become relaxing, usually I become frustrated or bored with them. Days later and I’m still working on this series in a pale transparent straw yellow color.

• Effetre Olive Green, Pale aqua, & Pink Translucent with White dots

Wildflower Polkadot beads coordinate with my matte large hole brass lined beads. Take a peek here for the Olive large hole bead, and here for the Aqua and Pink beads. I can also etch these if you prefer the matte look.
